Overview
The Director of Information Technology will serve as the senior technology leader overseeing all IT functions within Indiana State University Federal Credit Union. This includes infrastructure, cybersecurity, core processing systems, vendor management, and strategic technology planning. The ideal candidate will understand the unique regulatory, security, and service-delivery needs of a credit union and will drive initiatives that improve operational efficiency, strengthen security, and elevate the member experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a technology strategy aligned with the credit union’s mission, business goals, and regulatory environment.

  • Lead, inspire, and manage the IT department, promoting a culture of innovation, service excellence, professionalism, and accountability.

  • Oversee daily IT operations, including network infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and system support.

  • Ensure the security, availability, and resiliency of the credit union’s core processing system.

  • Partner with executive leadership to enhance digital member services, streamline operations, and improve overall member experience.

  • Manage IT governance, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with NCUA, FFIEC, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Lead business continuity planning, disaster recovery testing, and cybersecurity readiness efforts.

  • Oversee technology budgeting, vendor management, contract negotiations, and system selection.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies to support strategic growth, risk mitigation, and competitive differentiation.

  • Build strong relationships with internal departments to support organizational initiatives and ensure effective technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience (banking or credit union experience preferred).

  • Knowledge of credit union or financial systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements is helpful.

  • Demonstrated success in managing core processing conversions, digital transformation initiatives, or major system implementations.

  • Strong background in IT operations, network infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to align technology investments with business strategy and member service goals.

Work Location: In person Terre Haute, Indiana with occasional remote option available.
