Membership Eligibility

Unlike other financial institutions, credit unions are not-for-profit, membership-based organizations. The good news is that it’s not hard to get in on the action.

Indiana State University Federal Credit Union membership is open to:

  • Current students, employees, alumni, and retirees of Indiana State University as well as their immediate family members (spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, or sibling).

  • People who live or work in Vigo, Vermillion, Parke, Clay, or Sullivan County, Indiana, Edgar, or Clark County, Illinois.

  • Employees and/or members of the dozens of businesses, public agencies or nonprofit organizations of our Select Employee Groups

Indiana State University Federal Credit Union is federally chartered and serves the employees, students and alumni of Indiana State University as well as other Select Employee Groups (SEGs) throughout the Wabash Valley.

Anyone who resides or works in Vigo County or surrounding counties (Vermillion, Parke, Clay, Sullivan) in Indiana and Illinois (Edgar and Clark) can join the ISU CFCU through American Consumer Council membership.

  • Immediate family (spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, or sibling) 

  • Those living in the same residence and same economic unit as a member

  • Spouse of a person who died while within the field of membership

  • Persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the Select Employee Groups

Ready To Join?

Once you’ve figured out if you’re eligible, have the following items ready when you are applying for membership:

  • Unexpired government-issued ID

  • Social Security Number

  • $5 minimum deposit for your Member Ownership Account
